Profound Medical expands its R&D partnerships
New Research Agreement with Baycrest in Toronto, Canada.

Toronto – Profound Medical Inc. (PMI) is pleased to announce it has expanded its research and development endeavours by signing a Research Agreement with Baycrest, a Toronto-based world class developer of innovations in aging.
“Baycrest has a deep well of expertise in non-invasive imaging, married to some wonderful facilities which will help Profound accelerate its cancer-related clinical trial activities over the coming 18 months,” said Paul Chipperton, CEO of PMI.
The research agreement will allow PMI to use Baycrest’s state-of-the-art functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) technology during off hours when brain research studies are not booked to use the equipment.
Dr. Simon Graham, an fMRI physicist with Baycrest’s Rotman Research Institute, and his team, will guide technical advancement and seamless interfacing of PMI’s clinical system on a number of market-ready MR imaging platforms.
“Baycrest is pleased to provide our fMRI facility and technical expertise to support the research and development efforts of Profound Medical,” said Dr. Graham.
